MFA Financial, Inc. has appointed President and Chief Investment Officer Bryan Wulfsohn to become Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2027, following Craig Knutson’s planned retirement. The unusually long transition also brings former Starwood Capital executive Andrew Kail in as Chief Investment Officer, giving the mortgage-focused real estate investment trust time to transfer leadership while navigating credit risk, funding costs and a stock price trading far below book value.
