Alaska Air Group is eliminating about 200 non-contract positions after surging fuel costs pushed its full-year outlook into an adjusted loss despite 14% third-quarter revenue growth. The cuts are small relative to the workforce, but they expose a larger challenge: protecting financial discipline while Alaska continues integrating Hawaiian Airlines and investing heavily in international, premium and loyalty growth.
