Symrise to acquire pet food ingredient supplier ADF/IDF for $900m
Symrise acquisition of ADF/IDF : German flavors and fragrances manufacturer Symrise has agreed to acquire ADF/IDF, a US-based natural nutrition ingredient provider for pet food, for $900 million, as per the latest food acquisition news.
Headquartered in Springfield in Missouri, ADF/IDF supplies natural poultry ingredients for pet food and also for food applications. Its customers include manufacturers of pet food, food and beverage, supplements and nutrition.
ADF/IDF expands to American Dehydrated Foods/International Dehydrated Foods.
Established in 1978, ADF/IDF has 11 manufacturing sites and two technical centers across North America. Its operations are supported y nearly 470 employees.
Last year, the pet food ingredient supplier registered revenue of $220 million.

Symrise acquisition of ADF/IDF will help the German company to expand its activities in the pet food business and to bolster its position in the food nutrition market.

The combination of ADF/IDF and the Symrise Nutrition division Diana is expected to result in a major global player in meat and egg-based protein specialties.
ADF/IDF’s brand IsoNova provides pet food solutions using egg protein specialties. It manufactures animal health, functional, and nutritional products.
Symrise acquisition of ADF/IDF will help the latter leverage from the German company’s resources and expertise outside the US market.
