SpotOn Sidekick handheld POS solution launches for mobile food businesses

Restaurant management platform SpotOn has introduced – SpotOn Sidekick, a handheld point of sale (POS) solution, which has been particularly designed for mobile food kitchens such as food trucks, cafes, and pop-ups.

The new handheld device lets small-scale food businesses take orders, process payments, and print receipts.

The 5.5-inch SpotOn Sidekick handheld device offers all the functionality of SpotOn Restaurant POS solution.

According to SpotOn, the portable POS solution allows mobile food and beverage businesses to accept orders in-person as well as online from one device and directly send them to a Bluetooth kitchen printer.

The SpotOn Sidekick device is equipped with Wifi and 4G cellular technology to enable food trucks to carry out business anywhere.

Lisa Dallas – Owner of Billy Bob’s Boneyard, a barbecue food trailer presently docked at Dewitt Marine in Bellaire, Michigan said: “We have boats that pull up to the dock and, now with Sidekick, we can run right out there with the handheld, swipe their card and give them their food. The convenience, the ability to not depend on any wifi, I absolutely love.”

The new device joins SpotOn Serve in the company’s suite of handheld restaurant technology. SpotOn Serve, which was introduced in October 2020 is an intuitive handheld device that pairs with SpotOn Restaurant POS, enabling restaurants to take in food and beverage orders in real-time, accept payments at the table, and record guest data for business insight as well as marketing.
