SPML Infra Limited, an Indian water infrastructure development company, has won an INR 1,157 crores ($151.6m) contract for the Isarda Dam Project in Rajasthan from the Public Health Engineering Department, Tonk.
The bulk water supply project contract, which is under the Rajasthan government’s flagship scheme of Jal Jeevan Mission, calls for ensuring safe drinking water in Dausa and Sawai Madhopur districts. It has to be executed in two years’ time and will be followed by 10 years of operation and maintenance post-commissioning.
The Isarda Dam Project is envisioned to provide a safe drinking water facility to nearly 25 lakhs rural and urban populations. It is expected to benefit 1,079 villages and five towns in Dausa and 177 villages and one town in Sawai Madhopur districts in Rajasthan.
SPML Infra said that the scope of its work includes laying out a 341km long mild steel and ductile iron raw water and clear water transmission pipeline, constructing a 225 MLD water treatment plant in Isarda, Dausa, two pumping stations, two clear water reservoirs, a 33kV power substation, and other civil works.
