Sodexo invests in Chinese corporate catering platform Meican

Sodexo through its strategic venture capital vehicle, Sodexo Ventures, has invested in corporate catering platform Meican to further strengthen food services of Sodexo, and boost the Chinese food service industry.

Meican is a Chinese technology company focused on digital food solutions in the corporate environment. On the other hand, Sodexo is a French food services and facilities management company.

The investment in the corporate catering platform marks the second and largest investment in the last 12 months for Sodexo Ventures in the dragon country.

Furthermore, it will improve consumer experience by digitalizing on-site restaurants while expanding dining options with Meican’s network through the strategic cooperation.

Martin Boden –  Sodexo China country president, commenting on the investment in the corporate catering platform, said: “The partnership with Meican will continue to develop and enhance our food services across China.

Capitalizing on Sodexo’s geographic reach and proposing joint-offers, Meican is planning to expand operations in China.

The companies have not disclosed the financial details of the investment.
