SJVN Limited wins rights to build 200MW solar power project from MSEDCL

SJVN Limited has won the rights to develop a 200MW solar power project from State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).

In this regard, the company’s fully-owned subsidiary Limited (SGEL) has been issued a letter of award from MSEDCL to construct the solar in any part of Maharashtra.

The solar power project will be built in a period of 18 months which will be effective from the date of signing of a power purchasing agreement (PPA) with MSEDCL, said , which is a joint venture between the Indian government and the Himachal Pradesh government.

According to SJVN Limited, the project’s tentative cost of construction/development will be nearly INR 1,000 crores.

The solar power project is anticipated to produce 455.52 MUs in the first year and the cumulative energy generation over a 25-year period will be nearly 10480.82 MUs.

Furthermore, SJVN Limited expects the solar power plant in Maharashtra to cut down 5,13,560 tonnes of carbon emission and will contribute towards the Indian government’s target of achieving 50 GW renewable capacity by the end of this decade.
