Six Flags Over Texas theme park debuts El Diablo roller coaster

Theme park company Six Flags Entertainment said that its Six Flags Over Texas theme park in Arlington, Texas has opened the 100ft tall El Diablo roller coaster.

El Diablo, which is the 14th coaster of Six Flags Over Texas, can be found in the Spain section. It is claimed to be the tallest loop roller coaster in the world.

Commenting on the debut of the El Diablo roller coaster, Steve Martindale – Six Flags Over Texas President, said: “The Six Flags brand is synonymous with innovation at the highest level and we are excited to welcome another record-breaking attraction.

“This super-sized loop coaster features six inversions and the most hang-time of any coaster in the park. El Diablo packs a wicked punch and gives our Members and Season Pass Holders yet another new thrill to experience with family and friends.”

The bold red and orange themed El Diablo roller coaster starts off the ride with a pendulum style take off with multiple 360° degree revolutions around the 10-story loop. The El Diablo roller coaster has a total of six inversions and changes direction halfway through the ride cycle, leaving the riders suspended upside down at the top of the loop.

Currently, Six Flags is offering 2019 memberships and season passes on sale. Members have the privileges of priority park entry, preferred parking and discounts of up to 50% all season long on almost all food and merchandise purchases.
