Sigma Defense acquires EWA Inc. to bolster electronic warfare capabilities
Sigma Defense, a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital and a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the defense sector, today announced its acquisition of EWA Inc., a prominent player in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW) based in Herndon, Virginia. This acquisition marks a significant enhancement in Sigma Defense’s capabilities, particularly in delivering advanced solutions that align with the Combined Joint All Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) strategy of “sense, make sense, and act.”
With over 47 years of experience, EWA Inc. has developed a deep expertise in EW, providing critical technologies and services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other National Security stakeholders. Their work focuses on the electromagnetic spectrum, crucial for modern military tactics and security. The integration of EWA’s innovative technologies and seasoned team will significantly bolster Sigma Defense’s offerings in near-real-time intelligence collection, analysis, and distribution.

Carl Guerreri, the founder of EWA, reflected on the company’s evolution and the alignment with Sigma Defense’s strategic goals. “We started EWA in 1977 supporting the U.S Army Missile Intelligence Agency and have grown to provide electronic warfare solutions, testing, and training across multiple U.S. military branches.
