Shelf Drilling Mentor jack-up rig wins drilling contract in Nigeria

Shelf Drilling said that it has bagged a new contract award from an undisclosed client for drilling operations in Nigerian waters with the Shelf Drilling Mentor jack-up rig.

The estimated duration of the contract is 225 days with an option for drilling additional wells.

According to Shelf Drilling, the contract is likely to begin in the second quarter of 2022.

Founded in 2012, the Dubai-based shallow water offshore drilling contractor has rig operations across the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia, West Africa, and the Mediterranean.

In late 2021, Shelf Drilling had won a three-year contract from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for deploying its Ron Tappmeyer jack-up rig to carry out offshore operations in India.
