Shalby Limited, an Indian multi-specialty hospital chain, said that it will inaugurate an orthopedics centre in Udaipur, Rajasthan on 12 September.
Known as Shalby Orthopedic Centre of Excellence (SOCE), it is the first orthopedic specialty franchise hospital of Shalby Hospital Ahmedabad in India.
The Shalby orthopedics centre in Udaipur will offer both outpatient department (OPD) and in-patient department (IPD) services to patients.
Shalby Hospitals, which was founded by joint replacement surgeon Dr. Vikram Shah, has a footprint across 11 multispecialty hospitals spread across India. It is claimed to undertake more than 10,000 joint replacement surgeries in a year.
Dr. Vikram Shah said: “A large number of people from Udaipur and areas around come to our main hospital in Ahmedabad for orthopedic treatments and joint replacement. Now, with our centre in Udaipur patients can seek treatment here in Udaipur itself. Besides, this will be very helpful in orthopedic emergencies when travelling is not possible.
“Through this facility our aim is to provide the benefit of our widely known and proven orthopedic expertise to the people of Udaipur and nearby districts.”
The Shalby orthopedics centre in Udaipur is being opened in association with Madhuban Hospital and Dr. Hemant Khajja, an orthopedic surgeon, who will operate and manage it. The walk-in orthopedic centre will provide treatment of all orthopedic disorders, accident and trauma, and also sports injuries.
It will offer a variety of orthopedic services such as joint replacement surgeries and is equipped with an operation theatre, intensive care unit (ICU), and emergency department.
Dr. Hemant Khajja said: “I am very happy to get associated with the world-famous Shalby Hospitals Ahmedabad whose orthopedic services are among the best in the country. It is a matter of pride for our city that Shalby’s first franchise in the whole country is opening in Udaipur.”
Earlier this year, Shalby Limited had acquired certain implant assets from US-based medical equipment manufacturer Consensus Orthopedics for $11.45 million.
