Route Mobile to acquire Colombian CPaaS provider Masivian

Route Mobile Limited has agreed to acquire Colombian cloud communication platform service provider Masivian S.A.S (Masiv) for a sum of up to $50 million.

The consideration includes earn-out of up to $2.5 million.

Route Mobile, which is an India-based cloud communication platform service provider, will carry out the acquisition through its fully-owned subsidiary — Route Mobile (UK).

Masivian caters to enterprises in Latin America (LatAm) with a suite of communications, marketing, and artificial intelligence (AI) powered products.

The company is focused on providing multichannel notification services via SMS, email, OTT business messaging, voice to clients across Colombia and Peru.

Route Mobile said that the acquisition is in line with its global expansion strategy to become a recognized multinational Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) player and also to strengthen its footprint in Latin America.

The Indian firm said that Masivian offers significant opportunity that can be tapped from local enterprises as well as with global OTT’s, utilizing its added geographical strengths such as direct connectivity, cost efficiencies, and local footprint in the Andean region.

We intend to be actively involved in Masiv’s growth and expansion of its portfolio.”

Although based mainly in Colombia and Peru, the cloud communication platform service provider gives an excellent near-shore talent pool as well as operational hub for supporting customers in the Americas, said Route Mobile.

The deal, which is subject to customary terms and conditions, is likely to close within the next 60 days.

Last month, Route Mobile had incorporated a subsidiary in Saudi Arabia called Route Mobile Arabia Telecom.
