RITES Ltd., an Indian government-owned transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm, said that Rahul Mithal has taken over as its chairman and managing director.

Rahul Mithal is a mechanical engineer from the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers. Post graduation, he had done MBA (Finance) from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and is a Fellow of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK) as well as a chartered engineer registered with the Engineering Council (UK).

According to RITES Ltd., Rahul Mithal has more than three decades of experience in the railway sector. He had held various important roles in Indian Railways and Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR).

Rahul Mithal has worked in design and maintenance of rolling stock and handling equipment, MMLP/warehousing projects, operations and maintenance, design, planning and execution of digitization initiatives and modernization projects.

Before joining RITES Ltd., he was director (projects and services) at CONCOR.
