Australian airline Rex has wrapped up the previously announced AUD 48 million acquisition of National Jet Express from Cobham Aviation Services Australia.

National Jet Express, which was a regional services arm of Cobham Aviation Services Australia, is a provider of Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) services in Western Australia and South Australia.

Lim Kim Hai — Rex Executive Chairman said: “As we now officially complete the purchase, I would like to pay tribute to the sellers, Advent International, which have prepared the sale in the most meticulous and professional way I have ever seen in my life.”

Lim Kim Hai revealed that Rex will look to immediately lease another two De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 NextGen (NG) aircraft for National Jet Express to address the expected surge in demand for the FIFO services provider.
