ResMed to acquire out-of-hospital software solutions provider MEDIFOX DAN

ResMed, an American medical device company, has agreed to acquire MEDIFOX DAN, a German out-of-hospital software solutions provider, from Hg for a sum of nearly $1 billion.

MEDIFOX DAN caters to ambulatory care services, care homes, and therapists across Germany with software solutions like MD Outpatient and MD Inpatient. Its clinical, operational, and financial solutions are mission-critical for out-of-hospital care providers such as care documentation, administration, personnel planning, billing, and others.

The German firm’s offerings are said to be similar to ResMed’s US SaaS brands —Brightree and MatrixCare.

MEDIFOX DAN’s acquisition builds on the existing business of ResMed in Germany as a provider of cloud-connected medical devices for patients having sleep apnea and other respiratory disorders.

The German firm has a workforce of more than 600. Post-acquisition, it is intended to be operated under its existing brand within the ResMed SaaS business.

Subject to regulatory approvals, the deal is likely to be wrapped up by the end of Q2 of ResMed’s fiscal year 2023.
