Ramco Cements installs oxygen plant in Virudhunagar dist, Tamil Nadu

Ramco Cements said that it has commissioned an INR 50 lakhs worth oxygen plant in Ramasamy Raja Nagar, Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu.

The cement manufacturer said that the oxygen plant will supply medical oxygen to the government hospitals in Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai, Sivakasi, and Sathur.

The plant has a production capacity of 48 oxygen cylinders per day with each of them having a capacity of 45 liters of liquid oxygen, which is equivalent to 7,000 liters in gaseous form.

According to Ramco Cements, each of the cylinders, at the rate of 10 liters per minute, can feed one patient for 10-12 hours, which means continuous supply of medical oxygen from the plant can save nearly 24 lives every day.
