Quorum wins oil and gas software contract from Black Bear Transmission
Quorum Software, a US cloud-based oil and gas software provider, said that Texan midstream company Black Bear Transmission will use its Quorum gas pipeline software, gas measurement software, and measurement services to support its operations.
According to the oil and gas software company, Black Bear Transmission requires a proven solution that can support its eight natural gas pipelines that span over 1,200 miles with a delivery capacity of over 1.8 Bcf per day. The software is needed to help the Texan midstream company to ensure the delivery of reliable gas supply and accurate details to its customers.
Essentially, Black Bear Transmission has been looking for a software partner it could rely on to comply with the strict regulatory obligations of its four FERC-regulated interstate pipelines and also four state-regulated pipelines, as per Quorum Software.
Scott Langston – Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Black Bear Transmission, said: “We conducted a thorough evaluation process, and the results were clear.
“Quorum is the only software vendor proven to meet the regulatory requirements of our pipeline systems and support a growing company of our size.
“We appreciate the positive approach and partnership Quorum brings to meeting our goals, as well as reasonable pricing for onboarding our assets and a strong willingness to collaborate in solving our challenges.”
Quorum Software said that with Black Bear Transmission focusing on operational efficiency and sustaining low overhead in uncertain times for the oil and gas sector, the midstream company made a strategic decision to engage it for providing measurement services via its affiliate, Coastal Flow.
As per Quorum Software, the services of Coastal Flow combined with FLOWCAL gas measurement software offer the most cost-effective way for Black Bear Transmission to get subject-matter expertise and ensure the validity of measurement data.
