Qatar Petroleum to farm into three Campeche basin blocks in Mexico

Qatar Petroleum has signed three farm-in deals for acquiring nearly 30% of Total’s participating interest in blocks 15, 33, and 34 located in the Campeche basin in Mexican waters.

As per the Qatari national oil company, each of the farm-in deals is subject to customary regulatory and other approvals from the existing partners of the French oil and gas giant and the Mexican government.

The three offshore blocks are located within 30-90 kilometers of the giant Cantarell and KMZ oil fields. The total area covered by the offshore Mexican blocks in the Campeche basin is nearly 2,300 square kilometers, with water depths ranging from nearly 10 meters to 1,100 meters.
