PVR Cinemas opens four-screen theatre – PVR Sreekanya Narsipatnam

PVR Cinemas has opened PVR Sreekanya Narsipatnam, a four-screen property in the Narsipatnam town in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh.

The Indian film exhibition company is now running the former Sreekanya Cinemax as one of its properties.

Located in the centre of Narsipatnam, the PVR Cinemas theatre can accommodate 1,188 people.

PVR Sreekanya Narsipatnam is claimed to have the latest technologies. It features Clarus Screens from Harkness and Christie 2K projectors for providing an immersive viewing experience to the audience.

PVR Cinemas has a Dolby 7.1 and Dolby ATMOS system in the Narsipatnam cinema theatre for enabling crystal-clear, high-definition immersive audio.

Following the launch of PVR Sreekanya Narsipatnam, PVR Cinemas has grown its presence in Andhra Pradesh to 13 screens in three properties and 296 screens across 48 properties in southern India.

Sanjeev Kumar Bijli — Joint Managing Director of PVR Ltd, commenting on PVR Sreekanya Narsipatnam, said: “South holds immense importance in terms of our expansion plans in the geography as it is highly underpenetrated in terms of multiplexes. When cinemas reopened after the lock-down, South Indian box office continued to perform well increasing optimism of business recovery.
