Pure Prairie Poultry, emerging as a premium chicken provider in the Midwest, has launched its own retail brand, “Pure Prairie Poultry,” emphasizing “pure” quality. This brand debut comes nearly two years after the company acquired a state-of-the-art chicken processing facility in Charles City, Iowa, known for its air-chilled technology.
Expanding Across the Midwest
Initially available in over 50 locations across Coborn’s, Cashwise, and Marketplace stores in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, Pure Prairie Poultry has ambitious plans for expansion throughout the Midwest and beyond. The company’s focus is on quality, consistency, and personalized service, aiming to remind customers of a time when chicken tasted pure and relationships were key.
Emphasizing Quality and Convenience
Brad Vokac, vice president of sales and marketing for Pure Prairie Poultry, highlighted the premium quality of their offerings, starting with smaller chickens for more tender products. “The air-chilling process enhances the cooking and taste experience,” said Vokac. The company also stresses the benefits of well-trimmed products without added salt or solutions, offering natural, pure chicken.
According to Vokac, fixed-weight packages save time and labor for retailers, removing the need for individual weighing and labeling. These packages allow flexibility for retailers in merchandising and enable consumers to see the product inside, aligning with the company’s ‘pure’ value proposition.
