Petrofac bags three EPS contracts in Oman from Shell

Petrofac, a services provider to the energy industry, has bagged three new engineering and procurement services (EPS) contracts in from Shell.

The first of the scopes is an EPS contract for five years for the Mabrouk phase 2 project in Block-10, Al Wusta Governate, located nearly 400km from .

The contract was awarded by Shell after a competitive tender. Its scope includes well-pads for various wells, remote manifold stations, and connecting pipeline. This includes water infrastructure for well development as well as a base for field operations.

Two others contracts are for delivering residual engineering and procurement services to complete Block-10 development phase 1B. These were won under the global enterprise framework agreement with Shell, said .

In December 2021, Shell’s subsidiary Shell Integrated Gas Oman and its partners OQ and Marsa Liquefied Natural Gas inked a concession agreement for developing and producing natural gas from Block-10. At the signing, Shell became the operator of the onshore field.

Petrofac plans to execute the three contracts by leveraging its multi-discipline engineering and project execution office in Muscat.
