India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is set to deploy a virtual fiber solution from Redline Communications Group for supporting its 29 remote onshore and offshore operations.

Redline Communications, which is a Canada-based wireless communications network designer and manufacturer, has been selected in this connection by Telephone Electronic Corporation (TEC India), a network and communications system integrator in India.

The company’s RDL-3000 virtual fiber solution will be used at ONGC’s Neelam Heera Asset site. The solution is expected to provide high-capacity, high-speed, long-range wireless connectivity for 29 remote fields, both onshore and offshore.

Certified to operate in zone 2 environments, the virtual fiber technology is said to enable industrial businesses in moving critical data at the most crucial times and isolated locations.
