ONGC to deploy Redline virtual fiber solution to support operations

India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is set to deploy a virtual fiber solution from Redline Communications Group for supporting its 29 remote onshore and offshore operations.

Redline Communications, which is a Canada-based wireless communications network designer and manufacturer, has been selected in this connection by Telephone Electronic Corporation (TEC India), a network and communications system integrator in India.

The company’s RDL-3000 virtual fiber solution will be used at ONGC’s Neelam Heera Asset site. The solution is expected to provide high-capacity, high-speed, long-range wireless connectivity for 29 remote fields, both onshore and offshore.

According to Redline Communications, its virtual fiber technology provides 99.9% of connectivity to sensors and machines. Certified to operate in zone 2 environments, the virtual fiber technology is said to enable industrial businesses in moving critical data at the most crucial times and isolated locations.

Recently, Redline Communications had won another tender to extend services to additional ONGC fields for a period of six months.
