OGDCL discovers new gas-condensate reservoir in Sindh’s Khewari Block

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has made a landmark announcement regarding a substantial gas-condensate discovery at the Kharo-1 well, situated within the Khewari exploration license area in District Khairpur, Sindh Province. This discovery is a testament to OGDCL’s dedication to enhancing Pakistan’s energy resources through diligent exploration efforts.

OGDCL, operating with a 95% working interest alongside its joint venture partner GHPL (Government Holdings Private Limited) holding a 5% interest, executed drilling and testing operations at the Kharo-1 well structure. Achieving a depth of 3,762 meters, the operations unveiled a significant yield of 14.3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 93 barrels per day (bbls/d) of condensate. These promising results were recorded at a 32/64-inch choke size, showcasing a wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 2,737 pounds per square inch (psi), emanating from the Massive sand strata of the Lower Goru Formation.
