This collaboration is poised to explore partnership opportunities in establishing a bamboo-based Bio-Refinery at NTPC Bongaigaon, among other green projects. NRL, a subsidiary of Oil India Limited, is known for its refining and marketing prowess in the petroleum sector.

Signed on January 30, 2024, this strategic MoU underscores the shared commitment of these Central Public Sector Enterprises to fostering sustainable solutions and expanding their footprint in green chemicals. The ceremony saw the presence of key figures, including Gurdeep Singh, CMD of NTPC; Dr. Ranjit Rath, CMD of OIL and Chairman of NRL; and Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, MD of NRL, marking a significant step forward in the development of the North Eastern Region and achieving the nation’s ambitious Net-Zero targets.
