NTPC Nabinagar Thermal Power Project Unit 4 enters into commercial operations

NTPC Limited said that Unit 4 of the 1GW Nabinagar Thermal Power Project in Aurangabad district, Bihar has entered into commercial operations.

The coal-fired power station is owned by NTPC’s subsidiary — Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited.

The Nabinagar Thermal Power Project has been built at Sivanpur village in Nabinagar taluk.

NTPC stated: “In line with the Corporate Disclosure requirements, we wish to inform that Unit-4 of 250 MW capacity of Nabinagar Thermal Power Project (4X250 MW) of Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited (a Subsidiary Company of NTPC Limited) is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of 01.12.2021.”

Following the commissioning of the coal-fired power unit, NTPC group’s commercial capacity has gone up to 67.9GW.

The Nabinagar Thermal Power Project is made up of four units, each having a capacity of 250MW.
