North Korea vows revenge on US during 73rd Korean war anniversary

In observance of the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War, North Korea conducted mass rallies in Pyongyang, where participants pledged a “war of revenge” against the United States, according to state-run media.

The demonstrations, involving roughly 120,000 workers and students, featured strong anti-US sentiments with placards threatening the US mainland.

Amid growing concerns about North Korea’s potential launch of its first military spy satellite, the state’s news agency, KCNA, noted the nation’s readiness to punish the “U.S. imperialists” with their “strongest absolute weapon.” North Korea’s recent weapon tests, including its largest intercontinental ballistic missile, have escalated tensions in the region, particularly with South Korea and the United States.

In addition, North Korea’s foreign ministry accused the US of fueling a potential nuclear war by deploying strategic assets to the region. The Korean peninsula remains a conflict zone as the Korean War of 1950-53 concluded with a truce instead of a peace treaty, keeping both nations technically at war.
