Nokia and Ishan Technologies drive broadband connectivity transformation across Gujarat and Maharashtra

This strategic partnership focuses on deploying advanced network solutions to deliver high-speed broadband services tailored for both retail and enterprise customers.

The collaboration will see Nokia introducing its cutting-edge Altiplano Software-Defined Access Network (SDAN) solution, along with the Broadband Network Gateway (BNG), Data Center Fabric, and IP/MPLS transport technologies. These solutions aim to automate routine operations like service provisioning and activation, ultimately reducing operational costs and enabling faster rollout of new services to meet India’s evolving digital needs.

Pioneering High-Speed Broadband Services

Ishan Technologies, in its commitment to network expansion, is leveraging this partnership to modernise its broadband infrastructure. This initiative aims to expand its services across key urban centres in Gujarat and Maharashtra while addressing the surging demand for and cloud-based services.

Nokia will provide a comprehensive portfolio of technologies to support this broadband connectivity transformation. This includes the deployment of its Lightspan DF-16GM Optical Line Terminals (OLTs), dual-band Optical Network Terminals (ONTs), and the Altiplano Access Platform. Additionally, the project will strengthen Ishan’s core and transport networks with Nokia’s advanced 7250 IXR routers, 7750 BNG with CGNAT capabilities, and the 7220 IXR Data Center Fabric platforms for key locations like Mumbai and Chennai.

Supporting India’s Digital Transformation

The upgraded network, powered by software-defined networks, is designed to improve the customer experience by enabling faster service delivery and addressing increasing bandwidth demands. Nokia is also introducing training programs to empower Ishan Technologies’ workforce, ensuring they can efficiently manage the newly integrated systems.

Dr. Keyur Jathal, Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Ishan Technologies, shared that this partnership underscores their mission to provide high-speed broadband services to over 256,000 customers, including small and medium enterprises. He added that Nokia’s technologies allow them to set new benchmarks in India’s broadband sector while future-proofing their network infrastructure.

Jivitesh Nayal, Nokia India’s Head of Emerging Business for Network Infrastructure, emphasized Nokia’s role in driving digital transformation in India. He highlighted how their cloud-optimised SDAN solutions and 400G-ready transport routers would enable Ishan Technologies to deliver scalable and reliable services for both retail and enterprise clients.
