NCR acquires hospitality POS technology provider BEC

NCR acquisition of BEC : Atlanta-based NCR Corporation has acquired BEC, a Colorado-based POS technology provider for the hospitality industry, for an undisclosed price.

The acquisition is said to complement the existing footprint of NCR in addition to growing its coverage within the western US.

For 23 years, BEC was an NCR reseller. NCR acquisition of BEC enables the former to directly handle over 2600 sites, including large customers such as Qdoba, Punch Bowl Social and Snooze Eatery.

NCR said that all the former BEC employees have been retained.

Commenting on NCR acquisition of BEC, Michael D. Hayford – NCR President and CEO, said: “We’re enhancing our ability to take care of our customers each and every day and expanding our overall Hospitality portfolio.

NCR said that the acquisition of BEC along with considerable incremental investment in Aloha R&D and the company’s continuing commitment to its channel partners, consolidates on a proven strategy for NCR Hospitality and its commitment towards the small-medium business sector.

BEC is now a part of 14 NCR Local Offices, which offer NCR Hospitality a balance of a local presence close to their customers.
