Monolith has inked a collaboration agreement and letter of intent (LOI) with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company on the development and possible use of clean carbon black produced at the former’s Olive Creek facility in Hallam, Nebraska for the latter’s tire manufacturing.
The chemical and energy company anticipates starting construction on its expanded Olive Creek facility next year, with completion slated for 2025.

“Our collaboration with Monolith is one example of how we are using sustainable materials in quality products that deliver a better future.”
Upon completion, Monolith’s Olive Creek plant will be producing 194,000 tonnes per year of cleanly made carbon black plus 275,000 tonnes of clean ammonia.
After full commissioning, the facility is expected to become the largest manufacturer of carbon black in the US and the first to have been constructed in the country in more than 50 years.
