McDermott wins FEED contract for Ichthys LNG Project in Australia

McDermott International has won a contract to deliver front end engineering and design (FEED) services pertaining to the Ichthys LNG Project offshore Australia from INPEX.

The contract is for providing booster compression module FEED with optional engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) field development project.

The booster compression module will be added to the offshore central processing facility of the Ichthys LNG project, located off the northwest coast of Western Australia.

Ian Prescott – McDermott Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, said: “This award illustrates McDermott’s continuing expertise in complex offshore EPCI.

“Our work to date demonstrates our qualifications to deliver smart solutions in challenging environments—and to the highest safety and technical standards.”

Under a previously awarded contract, McDermott is also carrying out umbilicals, risers and flowlines (URF) as part of an expansion of the existing facilities at the Ichthys LNG project.

McDermott will complete engineering work for the project in its Asia Pacific headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
