Maersk Resilient jack-up rig : Contract awarded by Shell in UK North Sea
Maersk Drilling has bagged a contract for the Maersk Resilient jack-up rig from Shell UK for the drilling of the Pensacola well in the UK North Sea.
The Danish drilling rig operator said that the offshore drilling contract for the Pensacola well is likely to begin in the latter half of this year. It will be in direct continuation of the previous work scope of the Maersk Resilient jack-up rig with Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM), with an estimated duration of around two months.
Morten Kelstrup — Maersk Drilling COO said: “We’re delighted to announce this contract which firms up Maersk Resilient’s drilling programme for most of 2022 and will allow the Resilient team to build even further on the excellent collaboration that was established with NAM and the Shell organisation during last year’s campaign at Galleon.”
Delivered in 2008, Maersk Resilient is a 350ft Gusto-engineered MSC CJ 50 offshore drilling rig. It is presently in use for Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij in the Dutch North Sea.
