Lightview Capital sells CyberSheath to BV Investment Partners
Lightview Capital, a prominent private equity firm specializing in lower middle market investments, has successfully completed the sale of CyberSheath Services International, LLC to BV Investment Partners. CyberSheath, recognized as a key managed services provider for the U.S. defense industrial base, has been under Lightview’s ownership since 2021.
Expansion and Strategic Sale
CyberSheath, founded in 2012, plays a critical role in ensuring subcontractors meet the Department of Defense’s (DoD) stringent cybersecurity regulations, including compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). This certification is crucial for contractors to align with DoD’s information security requirements to safeguard sensitive data against cyber threats. The company’s comprehensive service offerings include assessments, implementations, system management, and tailored 24/7/365 security services, catering specifically to the needs of defense contractors.
Under Lightview’s guidance, CyberSheath has not only expanded its leadership team but also accelerated its growth in crucial markets, reinforcing its position as a leader in managed compliance services for the defense sector. Eric Noonan, founder and CEO of CyberSheath, expressed gratitude towards Lightview for their support in achieving significant growth and leadership in managed CMMC compliance. “Entering our next chapter of growth, we are well-positioned to continue extending our position as the preeminent provider of managed compliance, security, and IT services to the defense industrial base and beyond,” Noonan stated.
Richard Erickson, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Lightview Capital, reflected on the successful partnership, emphasizing the tremendous growth and achievements during their tenure. “We are proud of what the team has been able to accomplish during our partnership and are excited to see the continued success of the company as an innovator in CMMC,” Erickson commented.
Stan Bikulege, Vice President at Lightview, highlighted CyberSheath’s role as a testament to Lightview’s investment strategy, which focuses on supporting founder-owned businesses in fragmented markets that possess unique expertise and technology-enabled services.
