Larsen & Toubro wins multiple construction contracts in India

Indian engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that its construction arm has bagged multiple orders for its businesses.

An engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract has been won by the Railways SBU of L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure IC from IRCON International. The order involves 25kV overhead electrification, signaling and telecommunication, and related works for 549 RKM/678 TKM railway lines related to the Northeast Frontier Railway.

The project is part of the Indian government’s ‘Mission Electrification’ initiative whose objective is to fully electrify the Indian Railway network to cut down carbon footprint and expenditure on diesel.

Larsen & Toubro’s Factories Business of Buildings and Factories IC has bagged a contract from a global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturer for design and construction of a food processing plant in Gujarat, India. The scope of the contract involves civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) utility works, which include external development works.

The Factories Business of Buildings and Factories IC of Larsen & Toubro has also won an order from an undisclosed client for the expansion of a super specialty hospital in Kolkata by 250 beds on a design and build basis.

According to Larsen & Toubro, the project’s built-up area will be 2.61 lakh sq ft with a configuration of basement+ ground+ 10 floors structure, which includes LINAC & PET CT facility.
