Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said that its construction arm — L&T Construction has bagged multiple orders in India for its businesses.
Its metallurgical and material handling (MMH) business has been awarded an order from an undisclosed customer for the construction of coke oven, by product and coke dry quenching facilities.
According to Larsen & Toubro, the sudden growth in the metals and minerals sector has increased investments from the private sector.
The MMH business has also won new mining orders for its products business and add-on orders from its current customers.
Larsen & Toubro said that the orders confirm MMH’s leadership position and demonstrate its ongoing efforts to increase customer trust throughout the metallurgical and materials space.
The conglomerate’s buildings and factories business, on the other hand, has received an order from an undisclosed client to develop an office space in Hyderabad that will cover an approximate space of 20 lakhs sft. The project is due to be completed within 14 months.
This project is comprised of two towers and five basements as well as utility structures. The tower area is comprised structural steel structure from the basement.
The scope includes civil, finishes, and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works.
Larsen & Toubro said that the project is a reaffirmation of its intention to shift to modular structural steel composite structures in order to address the issue of a shortage of skilled labor and to be able to meet the deadlines for delivery from the customer.
The water and effluent treatment business of Larsen & Toubro has secured a contract from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to build a demineralization plant, effluent treatment plant (ETP) and associated facilities for its Barauni Refinery in Bihar.
The scope of the Barauni Refinery project includes the design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the demineralisation facility, the condensate polishing unit, effluent treatment plant, as well as drinking water system.
