Kia Motors unveils Kia Sonet, new compact SUV made in India
South Korean automotive manufacturer Kia Motors has unveiled a new compact SUV called the Kia Sonet, which will be manufactured at its production facility at Anantapur in the Southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Kia Sonet, which marks the foray of Kia Motors into the compact SUV segment, will be available with multiple powertrain options to suit almost all requirements in the segment. The compact SUV will offer the choice of two gasoline engines – a Smartstream 1.2-liter four-cylinder and 1.0 T-GDi – and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine.
Kia Sonet will be available with a choice of five transmissions which includes five- and six-speed manuals, an intuitive seven-speed DCT six-speed automatic, and the new six-speed Smartstream intelligent manual transmission.
