Jupiter Electric Mobility set to launch JEM TEZ, India’s first 1-ton commercial EV

Jupiter Electric Mobility Private Limited (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has received critical approval from The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) for its new electric vehicle (EV), the JEM TEZ. This certification, under Certificate No. AATB 0182 dated May 29th, 2024, ensures the vehicle meets the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, paving the way for the commencement of commercial production.

Introduction of the JEM TEZ

The JEM TEZ, set to be the first 1-ton commercial electric vehicle (EV) in India, boasts cutting-edge technology and design tailored for efficiency and performance. Notably, it features a fast charging capability that charges the battery from 0% to 100% in approximately 20 minutes at combined charging stations. This represents the fastest charging time in the industry. Additionally, an onboard charger allows for a full charge in less than two hours. The vehicle also has a certified range of 127 kilometers, making it suitable for various commercial uses.

Advanced Features and Strategic Vision

Equipped with Telematics technology, the JEM TEZ enables real-time monitoring of vehicle health and performance. This facilitates immediate diagnosis and support, enhancing fleet reliability and efficiency. Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons Limited, expressed his enthusiasm about the ARAI approval: “We are thrilled to receive ARAI approval, which validates our commitment to innovation and excellence in the electric mobility sector.”

The company operates manufacturing facilities in Jabalpur, Indore, and Kolkata, and plans to expand its range of electric vehicles to include medium and heavy commercial vehicles, as well as buses.
