Jio Platforms and NVIDIA to build AI cloud infrastructure in India
Jio Platforms Limited, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, plans to establish a state-of-the-art, cloud-based AI compute infrastructure in India, in collaboration with technology giant NVIDIA. The undisclosed deal aims to position India as a burgeoning force in the artificial intelligence (AI) domain. This new AI cloud infrastructure is designed to provide accelerated computing and secure, high-speed cloud networking to various professionals across India, including researchers, developers, and startups.

The new infrastructure will have a wide-ranging impact on India’s key initiatives, offering quicker execution of AI projects like AI chatbots, drug discovery, and climate research among others. NVIDIA is set to provide Jio Platforms with comprehensive AI supercomputer technologies, including CPU, GPU, networking, and AI operating systems. Jio will take on the responsibilities of managing and maintaining this AI cloud infrastructure while also overseeing customer engagement and access.
