Jacob Leinenkugel launches seltzer beer brand Leinenkugel’s Spritzen
Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, a US craft brewery, has launched a new trio of seltzer beers under the name Leinenkugel’s Spritzen, which is available across the country.
Leinenkugel’s Spritzen marks the first new release across the US for the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company in three years. The craft beer is available in three flavors – Grapefruit, Pineapple Strawberry, and Raspberry Lemon.
The new seltzer beer brand is said to feature a crisp and effervescent beer-forward taste which has the clean finish and subtle fruit flavors of a seltzer. The new beers are said to contain 93 calories, which are less than the major hard seltzers, apart from having no sugar and artificial ingredients.
Katie Leinenkugel – Leinenkugel Brand Strategy and Engagement Lead said: “There are plenty of beers on the market and a variety of seltzers entering the category, but nobody is offering the best of both worlds except us.
“Spritzen is the refreshing intersection between beer’s timeless taste and the modern rise of seltzers. We know that drinkers enjoy seltzer’s better-for-you qualities but miss the taste of beer, and Spritzen is the perfect option to fill that need.”
Leinenkugel’s Spritzen will be rolled out in three different packs – a 12-pack having all three flavors, a six-pack with Raspberry Lemon and Pineapple Strawberry flavors, and a six-pack having only the Grapefruit flavor.
Dick Leinenkugel – president of the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company said: “The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company has been brewing for 153 years and has never brewed anything like Spritzen.
“Leinenkugel’s has always prided itself on pairing German tradition with American innovation, and Spritzen is a fine example of that. For those who love our Shandies, these beers are direct descendants with a lighter, and even more refreshing spin.”
The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is part of the Tenth and Blake craft division of Molson Coors Beverage Company. It was established in 1867 by Jacob Leinenkugel and in 1988 was acquired by Miller Brewing Company.
