ITC acquires herbal floor cleaning brand Nimyle from Arpita Agro Products
Indian FMCG giant ITC has acquired a herbal floor cleaning brand called Nimyle for an undisclosed amount from Kolkata-based Arpita Agro Products to enter into the home care products segment.
The Nimyle neem-based floor cleaning brand has been mostly sold across the states of West Bengal and Odisha and had been recently launched across North India. This herbal floor cleaning brand is also being sold online through Amazon and Big Basket.
ITC is expected to scale up the availability of Nimyle herbal floor cleaning brand all across India to compete with the popular floor cleaning brand Lizol owned by global consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser.
According to several Indian media reports, ITC has been on an acquisition spree in the FMCG segment. Prior to the acquisition of the Nimyle floor cleaning brand, ITC had snapped up B Natural juice brand from Bengaluru-based Balan Natural Food.
Last year, the Indian conglomerate had made a deal with Colgate-Palmolive to acquire its Charmis skin care brand.
It can be recalled that ITC had acquired antiseptic brand Savlon and hair shampoo and an ayurvedic prickly heat powder Shower to Shower brand from Johnson & Johnson about three years back.
