ISRO’s Aditya-L1 mission soars with MIDHANI’s specialized metals and alloys

Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) revealed that it made significant contributions to ISRO’s successful launch of the Aditya-L1 mission on September 2, 2023, at 11:50 hrs. from Sriharikota. Specialized metals and alloys supplied by MIDHANI were crucial in building the Aditya-L1 launcher vehicle PSLV-C57, further strengthening the company’s long-standing partnership with ISRO.

MIDHANI’s critical materials, including Ti-6Al-4V Titanium alloy for PS4 Tank and Gas bottles, C-103 Niobium Alloy for the PS4 thrust chamber, Superco 605 Cobalt Alloy for the PS2 thrust chamber, and Ultra High Strength Steel for the Motor Case, played an essential role in the mission’s success. Other specialized materials like 15CDv6 were also used for the strap-on motor case and base rings.
