Isgec Heavy Engineering wins order for 100th CFBC boiler

Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd. said that it has surpassed the milestone of supplying 100 CFBC boilers, which are used across a broad spectrum of industries and sectors.

The India-based heavy engineering company said that the credit in this particular case goes to its ongoing technical collaboration with Sumitomo SHI FW (previously Foster Wheeler).

Sumitomo SHI FW had delivered ultra-supercritical CFBC boilers for the 2.2GW project at KOSPO in Samcheok, South Korea. The power station has four x 1,570 TPH ultra-supercritical CFBC Boilers, that have been operating for over three years.

According to Isgec Heavy Engineering, the CFBC technology provided is the latest generation technology that gives benefits in terms of low maintenance, higher availability, low LOI in ash, higher efficiency, and a wide variety of fuel firing capabilities.

The company claimed that the technology is proven to efficiently burn low ash imported coals, high ash Indian coals, high sulphur petroleum coke, high moisture lignite, dolochar, washery rejects, biomass, and a wide range of solid fuels.

Earlier this year, Isgec Heavy Engineering had won a contract to supply a slop fired boiler from an undisclosed company in the sugar industry for its distillery plant in India.
