Isgec Heavy Engineering Ltd. has bagged an order from the Indian Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) for the supply of 25 medical oxygen plants.
According to the Indian heavy engineering company, the scope of work under the contract includes manufacturing, supplying, installing, and commissioning.
The medical oxygen plants will each have a capacity of 250 litres per minute (LPM) and oxygen concentration of 93 +/- 3%.
DRDO has developed the design for the oxygen plants on the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) principle.
Isgec Heavy Engineering said that this is the first order it has won for medical oxygen plants from DRDO.
The company said that the project’s objective is to expand the medical oxygen infrastructure in India to place it in a better position to tackle the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.
Last month, Isgec Heavy Engineering said that it had won an order from the Indian Navy for delivering two gas fired boilers for a naval project.
