IRB Infrastructure is preferred bidder for TN highway project stretch

IRB Infrastructure Developers said that it has prevailed as a preferred bidder for a stretch of the Chittoor-Thachur Six Laning highway hybrid annuity project in Tamil Nadu (TN) at the cost outlay of INR 909 crores.

The bidding was for the construction of six lanes of the 20km long Pondavakkam to Kannigaipair stretch on the upcoming Chittoor-Thachur Highway.

The highways infrastructure developer has now won four hybrid annuity projects following a couple of them in Gujarat and one in Himachal Pradesh.

The highway construction project in Tamil Nadu is under Package-IV and is part of India’s ‘Bharatmala Pariyojana’.

According to IRB Infrastructure Developers, the concession will be made up of 730 days for construction followed by 15 years operations and maintenance rights.

With the Chittoor-Thachur highway project win, the order book of the company will move up to INR 14,189 crores. Its hybrid annuity portfolio expands to nearly 640 lane kms with cost outlay of more than INR 5,500 crores.

Virendra D. Mhaiskar — Chairman and Managing Director of IRB Infrastructure Developers said: “We are happy to have another project in Tamil Nadu after the existing Omalur – Salem – Namakkal Project, which is under the BOT space.

“Winning this project has validated our integrated strengths, developed in last more than 20 years, in executing all types and sizes of highway infrastructure projects, be it under BOT, TOT, HAM or EPC, irrespective of the geographical terrains.”
