Inox Wind wins contract for 150MW NTPC wind farm in Gujarat
Inox Wind, an Indian wind energy solutions provider, has won an order for a 150MW wind farm in Gujarat from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of NTPC.
On a turnkey basis, Inox Wind will execute the wind power project at Dayapar site, Kutch District. It is slated to be commissioned by April 2023.
As part of the contract, Inox Wind will deliver and install DF 113/92 – 2.0 MW capacity wind turbine generators for the NTPC wind farm in Gujarat.
The wind turbines will have a rotor diameter of 113 meters and a hub height of 92 meters.
According to Inox Wind, the common infrastructure facilities like the 220 KV pooling substation at Dayapar and extra high voltage transmission line have been already commissioned. This means the wind power project will be executed on a plug and play basis with a shorter gestation period.
Inox Wind will also take care of the operation and maintenance (O & M) for the lifetime of the NTPC wind farm in Gujarat.
Kailash Tarachandani — CEO of Inox Wind said: “We are very excited to bag this prestigious project from NTPC. This being a repeat order from NTPC, Inox Wind had earlier executed a 50 MW turnkey wind project for NTPC in Gujarat a few years ago, speaks volumes about Inox Wind’s credentials and capabilities.
“We look forward to being a long term and trusted supplier for NTPC and be partners in NTPC’s vision of achieving its ambitious Renewable Energy target. This also happens to be the largest order awarded by a PSU in recent times.”
