Infosys opens new digital hub in Calgary, Canada

Indian IT services provider Infosys said that it has inaugurated a new digital hub in Canada, called the Infosys Digital Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

Infosys also claimed to open up 1,000 jobs in Calgary over the next couple of years. This is said to be twice what the Indian IT firm had committed when it first expanded into the Canadian city last year.

Ravi Kumar — Infosys President said: “We chose to open in Calgary because it is a center of tech excellence with rich IT talent and a strategic location that enables us to scale work with clients across key industries, such as energy, natural resources and agriculture.

Located in Gulf Canada Square, Infosys Digital Centre is expected to help Infosys to collaborate further with clients in the region to build cross-industry solutions.

According to Infosys, the solutions will be targeted to address the pressing business challenges in areas like intelligent automation, user experience, green technology, and advanced digital technologies such as cloud and big data.

The new digital hub of Infosys in Calgary will train, upskill, and reskill employees of the company as well as that of its clients in the technologies needed to help Canadian businesses expedite their digital transformation.

Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek said: “Infosys’ choice to establish Calgary as a major technology centre is a big moment for our city and further demonstrates our city as a prime destination for the world’s leading technology companies.
