IndusInd Bank, as part of its CSR commitments, has installed rooftop solar panels at the in Kharghar, .

According to the -based commercial banking company, the installation is a large scale grid solar photovoltaic (PV) system that will produce around 300 kilowatt peak (kwp) of energy. The system will offset carbon emission by more than 340 metric tonnes.

said that the solar PV system will help Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital save close to INR 60 lakhs annually towards energy consumption, which will be used for providing free of cost cardiac surgeries to 40 children with congenital heart diseases, said the banking group.

The solar panel installation at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital is part of IndusInd Bank’s CSR initiative – ‘Institutions on Solar’, which is being executed in collaboration with the Centre for Environmental Research and Education (CERE) as its implementing partner.

Under the program, IndusInd Bank is said to have completed roof top solar installations at 14 schools/institutions during FY20. The installations are projected to generate solar power of 69 lakh units over a period of 25 years, said the bank.
