Indo Count Industries Ltd., a leading company in bed linen, has announced a strategic move to further penetrate the North American market. The company, through its subsidiary Indo Count Global Inc., has acquired Modern Home Textiles Inc., a prominent manufacturer of utility bedding products based in Phoenix, Arizona. The acquisition is part of Indo Count’s larger effort to expand its presence in the U.S., specifically targeting the West Coast.
Indo Count’s expansion strategy intensifies
The acquisition of Modern Home Textiles comes on the heels of another significant purchase by Indo Count Industries. Last month, Indo Count Global also secured a majority stake in Fluvitex USA Inc., a manufacturer of pillows and quilts based in Columbus, Ohio. These back-to-back acquisitions aim to establish a comprehensive and integrated utility bedding business in North America, diversifying its production and strengthening its geographical footprint. The addition of facilities in both Phoenix and Columbus provides Indo Count with efficient distribution channels to serve existing and new customers across the U.S.
Indo Count Global Inc., a 100% U.S.-based subsidiary, will now boast a manufacturing capacity of 13 million pillows and 1.5 million quilts annually. With a combined capacity of both acquisitions, the expected revenue at full utilization is estimated at over USD 85 million, with the company seeing an immense growth potential owing to a non-overlapping customer base between the two entities.
Expert analysis: Indo Count’s strategic gains
Anil Kumar Jain, Executive Chairman of Indo Count Industries, highlighted the significance of the acquisitions, explaining that bringing Modern Home Textiles into the fold allows Indo Count to accelerate growth within the utility bedding segment. He further noted that this move significantly enhances the company’s capabilities and market reach, meeting a longstanding aspiration to create U.S.-based jobs. According to Mr. Jain, Modern Home Textiles is known for its innovative and sustainable solutions in utility bedding, and this addition will better position Indo Count to serve its customers while expanding its presence on American soil.
The company also emphasizes that the manufacturing setup in Arizona and Ohio will enable it to meet increasing consumer demand for utility bedding products, specifically pillows and quilts. The geographically diverse locations of these facilities strengthen Indo Count’s ability to serve the wider U.S. market with more efficiency.
A market poised for further growth
Indo Count’s ongoing investments in North America are part of its broader ambition to build significant manufacturing capabilities to cater to the utility bedding sector in the region. The acquisitions mark an important step for the company in its attempt to enhance market reach and production capabilities, as they continue to compete with major bedding brands in the utility segment. The company plans to leverage Modern Home Textiles’ innovation in sustainable products to achieve a significant market share while focusing on environmental impact.
With a strong foothold in the utility bedding market, Indo Count is positioning itself for long-term growth. The newly acquired assets are likely to provide a platform for expansion not only in the U.S. but also to support a growing global clientele looking for high-quality bedding products. This move demonstrates Indo Count’s commitment to sustainable growth and efficient expansion through strategic acquisitions.
