Indian HR tech unicorn Darwinbox has secured an equity investment from Microsoft to develop advanced technologies focused on the human capital management (HCM) space.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Under the product and engineering collaboration, Darwinbox will adopt Microsoft Azure for improving its HCM SaaS platform.
DarwinBox and Microsoft will integrate their product ecosystem, and co-innovation on solutions to improve the employee experience.

Darwinbox’s mobile-first platform will integrate with Microsoft’s solutions such as MS Teams, Office 365, Dynamics 365, Microsoft Viva, and Azure Active Directory, among others.
The HR tech SaaS-based platform has leveraged Microsoft’s Power BI and Azure data lake for improved artificial intelligence (AI) based predictive analytics engine, visual analytics dashboards, and decision making.

The collaborations will enable the two companies to focus their innovation on workforce management, payroll management, benefits, talent management, and acquisition.
Darwinbox with a customer base in India and Southeast Asia has a presence in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
Clients of the Indian HR tech unicorn include Starbucks, Dominos, JSW, Vedanta, Tokopedia, Adani, Kotak, and others.
