Illinois American Water to invest $16m to upgrade Jerseyville water system
Illinois American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, said that it will invest more than $16 million for upgrading the local water system in Jerseyville, Illinois.
The water utility said that the investment will help in the supply of continued reliable, safe drinking water along with upgrades for improved efficiency, safety, and security.

In 2020, Illinois American Water had acquired the water and wastewater systems of the City of Jerseyville.
The water utility expects to begin upgrades at the Jerseyville water treatment plant this year. As part of this, the chemical and lime feed systems, which were installed originally several decades back, will be upgraded.
Five variable frequency drives (VFD) will also be upgraded with the investment.
Additionally, Illinois American Water had previously said that it will build a new operations and distribution facility in Jerseyville with an investment of around $8 million.
