In September 2022, Ofgem selected DTP as the preferred bidder for the offshore transmission licence for the Hornsea 2 Offshore Wind Farm after a competitive tender. The newly sold transmission assets include the onshore substation, export cables, the offshore reactive compensation substation (RCS) and the offshore substation.

As part of the agreement, Ørsted will provide DTP with long-term operations and maintenance services for the sold transmission assets. The Hornsea 2 Wind Farm, located approximately 90 km off the Yorkshire coast in the North Sea, features 165 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW wind turbines with a total capacity of 1,320 MW, sufficient to power over 1.4 million homes in the UK.
